Introduction

This event is part of a project called Experiences form the Field, in which students from the tenth semester of the career in Applied Linguistics, are required to organize lectures and presentations of great speakers that will encourage all the student body of the faculty to do amazing things with our future. This semester, we present the 25th edition of this project with the topic of "Challenges of Being a Professor in the USA".

The purpose of this event is to expand our knowledge on what it is like to be a professor in the United States of America. This is a topic that is extremely interesting for us as we are about to finish our careers and there is a good chance that most of us will become teachers of English as a second language, and looking for an opportunity to go teach somewhere else in the world. This talk saw topics like, what documentation do you need to go to work to another country, what it is like to be a foreign teacher and the culture shocks, what are the opportunities that there are right now open for us, and many more.
