Our Tasks

Preparation and dissemination of the event

We performed various activities before and during the event. Previously, we wrote some questions that we considered were intriguing and useful for us and our English teachers and translators classmates. Besides that brief assignment, we went to ask about the printing and dissemination of the event poster in the department "Difusión Cultural" of the school. Unfortunately, we could not meet the person in charge of the department that day and the day after because of internal issues at the school. However, we succeed in the rest of our tasks, which were to publish the event poster on the Facebook page of the school and that the event was counted as an AFI (necessary and compulsory activities of the career).

In order to accomplish the first task, we went to "Secretaria de Vinculación y Educación Continua" to get information about the process. This department checked our poster first and asked us to send it by email. For the other task, we went to the department called "Planeación y Evaluación" and asked if it was accepted as an AFI and how many days would take to appear in the students' siase. Luckily, both appeared just in time as they told us.

Hybrid Mode

For this event an online mode was also offered. Our team was in charge of making sure that this was authorized so that students from Linares were also able to participate in it without attending to the location. In order to get the permission to broadcast it, we contacted the person in charge of the department called "Secretaria de Vinculación y Educación Continua" to first let them know all the information about the event. After reaching to this department we were asked to choose someone in charge of the information to log into school´s Zoom account and send it through email. After sending the confirmation with our teacher´s name all tools to have access to the account were sent to her to, also shared with students in Linares.

On the other hand, during the event, every member of the team was in charge of one task.

Yareli Alvarado: I was in charge of asking in person to the school assistant principal for his attendance at the event. He asked me to communicate with my whole group about him giving a brief speech at the beginning of the conference because he could not be the entire hour.

Marcela Bermúdez: During the event, I was chosen by my team as a leader of the group to give notice in case something happened during the event. In this way, with the other team leaders, we were in charge of welcoming and seating the audience in the auditorium. I also helped to give them information or solve their doubts.

Rebeca Rodríguez: I was in charge of asking the person in charge of the department of “Secretaria de Vinculación y Educación Continua”  what was needed in order to carry the event in a Hybrid modality and I sent the information to confirm the person in charge of the zoom call. On the day of the event I attended virtually the event and as well as my partner Sol, I was checking that the call where the conference was broadcasted was working properly.

Sol Torres: On the day of the event, I was in charge of checking the Zoom call. I had to check the sound worked fine, that the image was visible, etc. Before the day, I communicated with the team in charge of the poster for them to send it to me and see if it was possible to print it and paste it in the school buildings, sadly this was not possible, but our team did whatever possible to do it.

Nelida Urdiales: Since I couldn't attend the event, I followed the conference online via Zoom and through our personal WhatsApp chat group. I was told to be alert in case there would be any technical difficulties but everything went fine and as expected.

Carlos Velazquez: During the event, I was in charge of taking some photos before, during, and after the event named “Challenges of being a professor in the USA”. Also, I sent some photos to be posted on the Facebook page just to communicate relevant information about academic exchange.

Arturo García: During the event, I was in charge of taking pictures of the panel in charge of directing the event and of the attendees and organizers, in order to show the role played by all the participants.

Nadia González: Before the event was presented, I was in charge of asking in the department of "Difusión y cultura" however, the permission was denied, it was impossible to print posters and post them in the university to spread the event, otherwise my classmates and I spread the event by Instagram and Facebook
